What’s involved?
MOTS Change Makers are made up of a dynamic community of young people committed to transforming the conversation around mental health in and outside of school.
1. Young Listeners Training
Change Makers are invited to complete our Young Listeners course, which enables improved conversation on mental health, and support in and outside of school.
You do not need to have lived experience to become a Change Maker, just a passion for the improvement of mental health in school and outside of school.
2. Become a ‘Stigma Challenger’
As a Change Maker, you will actively contribute to breaking down stigma surrounding mental health.
This can include engaging in meaningful conversations, challenge stereotypes, and participate in MOTS programmes aimed at tackling the stigma attached to mental health topics within your school.
3. Change Maker Blogger
Your voice matters. MOTS Change Makers have the unique opportunity to share their perspectives and personal stories through blog posts.
By doing so, you will be supporting the conversations around mental health and will have a space to speak up about topics that matter to you.
4. Mind Matters in School Podcast
In 2024, MOTS is launching a podcast featuring our Change Makers.
This exciting platform will provide a space for open discussions on current mental health topics, amplifying the voices of young people and raising a greater understanding of the challenges students in secondary school face.
5. Follow on sessions, training and fundraising
MOTS is committed to supporting our Change Makers on their journey.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in follow-on sessions, where they will receive additional support and training in mental health education.
This ongoing support ensures that our Change Makers are equipped with the skills and confidence to make a lasting impact within their school communities.
