Mind of the Student is proud to announce the soft launch of Mind of the Parent, an innovative programme designed to support parents’ emotional wellbeing and empower them to support their children’s mental health. The launch takes place at Ardleigh Green Family Hub, marking an exciting milestone in our mission to strengthen family connections and foster healthier communities.
Mind of the Parent is a series of fortnightly workshops facilitated by experienced healthcare professionals. These workshops will offer a safe, supportive space where parents can:
- Learn evidence-based techniques to promote their own emotional resilience.
- Gain practical strategies to help their children navigate mental health challenges.
- Connect with a like-minded community of parents, sharing experiences and fostering mutual support.
With the rise in mental health challenges faced by young people, the need for parental support is more pressing than ever. This programme is designed to bridge the gap by equipping parents with the tools they need to be confident, informed, and empathetic supporters for their children.
Kieran, Co-Founder of Mind of the Student, shared:
“We believe that parents are the cornerstone of a young person’s emotional foundation. By supporting them, we not only improve their personal wellbeing but also create ripples of positive impact for their children and the wider community.”
This programme is generously supported by Ardleigh Green Family Hub whose funding allows us to offer these workshops to the local community. For its first year, the programme will primarily target parents whose children attend ELAT schools in Havering, though future expansions are planned.
